My name is Andy Rogers – I’m from the Gold Coast of Australia. I moved to Japan with my wife in 2013.
As a teacher of English in Japan, I have spent considerable time working in elementary, junior high schools and universities – particularly junior high schools in Toyota, where I made important contributions as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT).
Before I moved to Japan, I studied English teaching under Cambridge University’s prestigious CELTA program. Since then, I have been fortunate to gain experience teaching in a wide variety of schools and English learning environments. Teaching English is a passion of mine and I enjoy seeing my students improve and find success!
When I’m not teaching English I like to ride motorcycles, go camping / hiking in the Japanese Alps, watch a movie or have a nice coffee with friends. I hold a 4-dan in kendo and appreciate Japanese culture. Photography is also a passion of mine – you can see some of my work on my photography homepage – here.
